Time to pack away the pencils, books, and notebooks because it’s time for the progressives to apply what they have learned from the four corners of their room in real life. On March 2, 2019, the Academia Progresiva de Manila (APDM) held its annual Bingo Fair entitled Bingo Fooderama 2019: the APDM Youngpreneur Fair held at the school’s gymnasium. While the parents enjoyed the bingo games inside the gymnasium, APDM has given the children a time off from school work to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. The “youngpreneurs” were given the opportunity to develop their cooking skills and marketing strategies through song and dance. Each student was assigned different tasks such as preparing of the food, taking orders, receiving the payment, and giving the change of the customers. The school was filled with young entrepreneurs selling nutritious and yummy food products. It was not just cooking and entrepreneurial skills that were developed but also the chance to let other people see how compassionate the APDM students are in helping people who need it most. The money raised from the food fair was donated to the victims of the big Mandaluyong fire in February 2019. Not only did the students get to learn the value of hardwork and being responsible, they also learned how to be compassionate and empathic to the people in need.
