Academia Progresiva de Manila and its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) had a successful event called “Think Green: A Garage Sale, Food and BINGO fair” on March 1, 2015. The first part of the event was the BINGO Fair and the Food Fair. The parents enjoyed playing BINGO while the kids actively sold different kinds of healthy snacks. Raffle prizes were awarded to lucky players all throughout the morning. The family of Danielle Santos of Grade 2 Lychee brought home the Php 5,000 grand prize from the BINGO! To all our winners, congratulations!
As part of our Early Entrepreneurship Enrichment program, the APDM students were tasked to manage their class food booth. Prep Peach sold various flavors of empanada. Students of Kinder Apple repacked mixed peanuts, and sold them to the bingo players. Kinder Orange opted to sell fresh fruit salad. Prep Kiwi prepared sweet corn on a cob. Grade 1 Cherry’s yummy spaghetti was a favorite while Grade 2 Lychee provided a more filling option with their shanghai rice meal.
The third part of the event was the Garage Sale. The pre-loved items that were sold were given by parents and students of the Independent Living Learning Centre and Academia Progresiva de Manila. The assortment of things sold was impressive! The selection consisted of branded clothing, footwear, toys, books, DVDs, and other home items! It was definitely a wonderful opportunity to let go and share our pre-loved items to make room for new ones! Our overwhelming gratitude for the very supportive parents, students and friends as well as to our generous partners for making this PTA event successful!
