Every October, the United Nations is celebrated worldwide to promote peace among nations. In the Philippines, children represent different countries through their costumes. This teaches children to respect and honor diversity.
Academia Progresiva de Manila celebrated its first UN Day celebration. Each class represented and had a short performance about their country. All the students dressed-up and looked very regal with their costumes. The program started with a short prayer, followed by the Philippine National Anthem and the Opening Remarks by Austin Llanes. It was then followed by the parade of the students. After the parade, the kids showcased their talents through dancing. The performances ended with the UST Interns leading the community song entitled, “We are the World.” The UN Day was a total success with the cooperation of everyone working towards a common goal.
